There aren't a lot of perks associated with using Fox Rent A Car, but the price was so much cheaper. Just stick to your guns and tell them up front that you are not interested in any extra coverage, etc. and that should keep your time at the counter to a minimum. Understand that the agents probably get some sort of bonus for upselling the extra stuff and that's why they ask you about it. Know the local gas prices ahead of time, so you can determine whether the prepay on gas is a good deal or not. Gas was actually almost 20 cents per gal more than the prepay amount, so it was a no brainer to take the prepay deal this time -- but that may not always be the case.

Do explore all around Tampa Bay -- more than one city - and explore the many places in this large and very varied region! It's on the gulf coast of Florida, but surprisingly less affected by storms than most of the USA. Great for nature lovers, with many mild coastal miles of outstanding beaches with warm gulf water.
