The rental counters are one level down, make sure you get on the right escalator. One will take you to the car rental location, the one right next to it goes down another level! Also, the gas stations closer to the airport gouge pricing. Fill up a little further away!

The flow through the ticketing and security was smooth. There is a train that takes you to your gait, so make sure you have the gait number before you leave the main area. Upon arrival at Orlando with Frontier airlines it took about 45 minutes for my checked bag to arrive. The off-site shuttle took another 15-25 minutes. I'd make sure to plan enough time after arrival for getting to your final destination. The airport was open, clean and well lit. The palm trees inside are a nice touch.

Orlando Airport was great. Even though it's an international airport it felt like a smaller airport so easy to navigate overall. Lots go food options and clean. Car Rental desk was close to baggage claim. And the Car rental garage was close right across the street (no busses needed) as well so makes it convenient and timely to get your vehicle. Overall a great airport, close to Disney & Universal Theme Parks and easy to navigate.

Travel tips — Go for a brand that you know and trust. If it’s cheap, be careful of underlying fees that are in the fine print. Also, consider the location and convenience of your reservation. Is it located in the terminal? After flying all day will I have the energy to stand in another line and get shuttled miles away to the airport? Or should I just spend the extra $10 dollars and get my car from the airport. In addition to that, take advantage of reward programs. It doesn’t cost you anything but your business (which you are already giving them.) Lastly, remember you are most likely in an unfamiliar place and don’t be afraid to ask an airport employee for help. That is what they are there for! Landing on Saturday afternoon and leaving on Tuesday afternoon was a stress free experience. Airport wasn't crowed and people were helpful when asking for directions. There is Terminal A and B check which side you are waiting for your shuttle. The public bus is very lacking in Orlando. If you planning to rent a car from Orlando, I recommend to get it from the major car rental instead cheapo car rental place where you have to take a shuttle cause I had a bad experience. The airport is like an octopus where all gates train you back to the middle where is are shopping and lots of food. The staff at the airport aren't super friendly maybe they don't see local people, most people are are in Orlando for vacation. There is no uber pickup from Orlando airport.

The person behind the window did this for us as it wasn't in order but they did try and sell me extras which was not what I wanted. Make a reservation for a car before arrival. When we got there there were a lot of counter that didn’t have cars for people other than those with reservations. Also, there was a decent length line behind us and the lady in front of us got the last car without reservation. That was a pretty big pain for others to deal with at midnight.

Orlando airport is pretty good. It's modern and clean with good facilities. It's not too big but big enough. However, one should be prepared for some long(ish) waits going through security. Also a train ride to your terminal adds time to your journey on both ends. In other words, arrive to the airport a bit earlier than you might normally do for departures. And expect to take extra time getting out of the airport upon arrival. MCO also has a strange "up-and-down" system. You have to go up a floor to go back down a floor in places and the baggage claim is also oddly placed and difficult to find if you don't know what you are doing there.

Quick check in even though it was very busy. Stewards had everything organised. Would have preferred more variety of shops at the gate. Poor catering available with poor choice after getting off the shuttle/train. Croissants were not really croissants and tasted yuck! Waffles would have been nice, but none anywhere.

Do not underestimate the time to go through security during high travel times. At slow times I have gotten from the counter to check bags to the gate in half an hour. At high traffic times, it has taken me over an hour and a half to do the same. The directions to get to curbside pickup, taxis, rental cars, and parking after picking up bags can be confusing. But signs for the Disney Express are great! When you are in the airport, the main eating places are in the center terminal area, not out in the terminal lines. The only food out by the gates are one main restaurant and a few small bagel places.

Allow plenty of time to get through check in with Disney traffic. We were held up returning due to accidents leading into the airport so be wary of Floridian drivers. Security went quickly but always check with the agents about the best entrance for your gate as there are two. Shuttle service runs well and the airport doesn't feel too crowded. Did not have a chance to visit shops but all looked Disney-oriented and expensive. Car drop off is easy and efficient.

Read clearly indications for directions to the rental agreement area. Don't hesitate to ask for directions as there are many helpful people. If you have several bags, don't hesitate to get a cart. Use the cart to transport you bags all the way to car pickup, which is quite close once you have the rental taken care of. Realize that agents may be able to take care of rentals for more than one company. This can save some time. Seriously consider adding the toll option to your agreement as there are freeway tolls close around the airport, and this can save time.

You should prepay as many things as you can. Use a credit card -just in case you have to get a refund, they have more power than you alone. Pay the extra to have your bag check...or at the very least allow it to be "check free" at the gate. Carry an outfit on your small carry one with your purse. Carry cash especially small bills for those moments you might need a quick tip. Take a picture of your boarding pass(es); just in case your data won't connect. Read the SMALL print...it is there for a reason. Lastly, if at all possible fly-in a day before you have to be - leas stress when you are delayed.

The security queues at Orlando airport like every other US airport can be long, make sure you leave enough time to get through. We travelled first class and queues were still very long. There is also the monorail service connecting the departure gates to the main terminal, it's only a short journey but be sure to leave enough time. When returning a rental car be careful to ensure you go the correct zone, it is extremely difficult to navigate around the car rental garage if you enter the wrong zone, be especially vigilant if your zone is on the upper levels as these are easy to miss if you are following behind other cars entering the garage. There are plenty of people on hand to help you around the airport to make sure you are in the right place. The roads going in and out of the airport are very well sign posted and even without Sat Nav you can be on your way easily.

The TSA folks actually were opening up additional lines in security and facilitating keeping the holiday rush moving, and were pretty nice while directing people thru. Use Orlando tourist toll pass. They are cheaper than rental car ones and also easily available. You can buy them only for the car rental duration or other duration that you need the toll pass. They can be bought at the airport near the rental car counters. You just need your credit card details. Keep it handy. Remember to deny the rental car toll pass. Close the tag in the car. If you have difficulty ask at the exit gate that the rental agency's toll tag should not be enabled.

The Airport is laid out well. The between terminal transportation is great. The food options are limited but OK. Baggage claim was smooth. On Airport Car Rental is a breeze and worth paying a little more for to avoid the hassle of the cheaper off airport options. One thing to prepare yourself for is they require you to use the self service baggage check kiosks. Its not optional like most airports.

Go with a reputable car rental company, most likely one that is located inside the airport. If you are going to Disney and only a few other places to stop, I would use the Disney Express and just Uber or Lift your way to those other places. The Disney express people on my way back to the Airport were amazing and extremely helpful. They will go above and beyond to help you. I went with Delta and they were also very helpful and accommodating. I had three kids, myself and my wife, with two bags a piece. We also had a car seat and stroller. There is reasonably priced gas by the airport, if you are willing to fill up by yourself and decline the prepaid fill-up service. Tolls are mostly less than $2 each, so the rental toll tag might not be worth it. Disney Springs and Universal City Walk is popular amongst tourists for evening fun, but check out Old Town in Kissimmee where a lot of locals go. The flea markets are mostly the same, so once you visit one, you do not need to visit the others. Kissimmee has an abundance of places to eat, especially fast food chains. Stay away from the cheap Disney ticket stands.

If you rent from Fox or anyone else North of the airport, watch out for a gas station N of Lee Vista Blvd on Semoran Blvd that overcharges. Local prices when I was there were about $2,31 9/10, but this station was charging $6.95 9/10! There is a 7-Eleven station right after Fox on the corner of Hoffman Ave that charged the going rate. Be careful and don't get gouged. Also allow time for traffic in the airport. When I got in around 5 PM things were quiet but around 7 PM traffic was very heavy and lanes to all areas (arrivals. departures, rental car returns and even airport exits) were backed up with stop and go traffic. Depending on your destination(s) in the area, it would be wise to check out what tolls you may encounter. Different roads have different toll systems and some have unmanned toll plazas that only accept their particular electronic toll systems. And the result of improper or non payment can be fines levied after the fact. Some preplanning can save problems later on.

I had to stand in line and wait 45 minutes to process my reservation and get me the car. 3. They try to sell you their insurance even if you have taken the Premium insurance from "holydaycars.com". They keep arguing with you and intimidate you into buying their insurance and extras. 4. I had reserved an SUV and they gave me a small regular car. When I actually saw the car, I went back and complained. Then they changed the car and gave me an SUV. I think that this switching of the car was done intentionally. 5. Never ever rent from this Fox rental car again. Pay a few dollars more if you want a peaceful and happy experience.

We did question the room rate and they did knock it down significantly. The room was updated with the bathroom shower also updated. There was a small restaurant in the lobby, but we were unable to try it due to our early flight. The shuttle to the airport was timely and everything went smoothly.

It is a good, foolproof system that only goes between the two points without any other stops I would suggest that if your flights are more than a couple of hour you take advantage of the great verity of food vendors. If you are thinking about renting a car, try to find a company that has cars at the terminal, it will save you a lot of stress when renting or returning the car.

Wheelchair assistance had been per-arranged. Upon arrival they were waiting at the jet-way. They helped us claim our luggage and took us to the car rental pick up area. When we were departing we had a problem, the rental car shuttle insisted on dropping us at the rental car pick up area on the lower level. The shuttle driver insisted that they always drop departing passenger at that area. There were no porters or wheelchairs, or even anyone to ask for assistance. We had to drag our luggage through the terminal and up to the departure level. Once we got our luggage checked in we were able to get wheelchair assistance to the gate. The attendants were pleasant, courteous and friendly, both on arrival and departure.

After a light breakfast at a local restaurant like the Wake Up Café at New Smyrna Beach (I recommend J.P.s Benedict, Mmmm), we checked out state and county parks. The wildlife was fantastic; numerous birds, alligators, manatees, and everything but people. We also took an airboat ride, which we've never experienced before. It was exhilarating! There are great restaurants everywhere but our favorite dinner was at Norwood's; the food, service, and atmosphere combined to make it a winner. We made some great memories and can't wait to return!

The airport is well laid out and easy to get into and out. The traffic in Orlando seems to be always heavy especially on Interstate 4 and US 192. Try to void around peak hours. The Sanford zoo is April 1 hr drive from Orlando, is very large and ideal for young children and toddlers. They don’t have a large display of animals but suitable for short legs that can not walk long distances. The play area and splash pad were a great hit with the children. Remember to bring a swimsuit.

For all the traffic they have and so many groups I am always impressed with how easy it is to flow in the Orlando airport. They do tend to load the plan 30+mins early so make sure you are at your gate. We got there 30mins early and missed the fact they already started to board. It all worked out fine but had we been a few minutes later I am not sure we would have been able to make it on. I do like getting rental cars from places that have a onsite presence. if you go offsite, be prepared for 40-60mins of waiting. The airport is easy enough to drive in and out of that you don't wave that much by picking an offsite place. Foods was good and had some good options. Baggage came out quick and with no issue, tho we had a direct flight, which always helps.

We rented a Nissan Rogue for two weeks in late January, early February of this year from Value in Orlando. We had originally booked a Toyota Yaris, but Value substituted a Rogue instead, at the same rate. I initially thought it would be a gas hog, but was pleasantly surprised at its good mileage. It certainly held the road well, and could keep up with the traffic ( 75 mph + ) and was relatively quiet. We drove from Orlando to the west coast of Florida and down the coast until it got warm ( south of Sarasota) It held our luggage and the level deck at the back hatch made getting it in and out a lot easier than with a compact car. Parking was easy, with the aid of the back-up camera. This was the first time I had ever used one, and it didn't take that long to adapt from rear view mirrors to a back up screen. The other thing that I found worked well in freeway traffic was the "blind spot" sensor. It alerted me a number of times when we needed to change lanes. Overall, I was very pleased with Rogue, and with the folks at the Holiday Inn where we picked it up. I would certainly recommend Value to anyone travelling in central Florida .

That is easy and much cheaper than paying the rental company a discounted rate for an entire tank when the tank is far from empty. Pay for the rental in advance to get a lower rate. Plan to arrive at least 2 hours before your flight. Security lines are long and slow. Only 2 people checking ID's and were not friendly at all. The people sending us through the scanners were also rude. We've always been told to take ALL electronics out of our bags along with any liquids (shampoos, etc.). At this airport, they sternly told us to make sure to put everything in our carry-ons and put it on the belt to go through the scanner. I know they are super cautious, but a little courtesy goes a long way.

Make sure to setup your Disney fastpass reservations 30 days before your visit to get the best choices. Check online for Disney park customer volumes before deciding on your day to visit. Download an app showing wait times for the rides to help decide which one to go for during the day. Save your receipt for parking when a hopper pass, you only have to pay parking once. Leave extra time to get through Orlando airport going home as you will need to take a tram. You will also take a shuttle bus from the car rental return area.

Allow yourself time! Lines can be long or go quickly. Allow extra time for traffic and accidents in the Orlando area. Fly with Southwest if you can. They are VERY organized, make flying easy and not torture like a lot of airlines (AND they have more legroom!). They also don't charge you for every little thing. Search for an offsite car rental company and don't be afraid of using smaller companies like I found through HolidayCars.com. I have found them (Value Car Rental) to be terrific and a great value. WAZE app on your phone for directions is a MUST. There was a big accident on the freeway and it got me around it and saved me a ton of time and the possibility of missing my flight.

Try to buy your flights in the middle of the week when they are cheaper. If flying out of Orlando airport, give yourself plenty of time to get through security - those lines are longer than any other airport I've been to! Take your time with the theme parks in Orlando - let yourself take a nap in your hotel room in the middle of the afternoon so you all don't have a Disney meltdown. You can come back at night feeling refreshed, and you'll only miss walking around in the hottest part of the day.

From the airport: Drive to Disney Springs on a day not going to Disney - free parking and no entrance fee. Free boat ride, things for kids and for a fee a car/boat hybrid and balloon rides. There are great restaurants in the area and I recommend searching out a Cuban restaurant. Ocean is not too far away. Try Cocoa Beach for a day trip. Hyatt regency has many pools and a very nice outdoor area to lounge, with the hot weather it is a great place to spend a day. Search out a Jai Alai match, the fastest sport in the world.

Allow plenty of time to return your car and catch the shuttle back to the airport, to check your luggage, to go through Security, and get to your gate. It took us about an hour. If you are traveling on an airline that doesn't charge to check your luggage, do it since the airlines are pretty quick to get your luggage to you. That means that you don't have to struggle with your luggage on the plane and through the airport. Orlando airport had free WiFi. Don't forget to pick up something to eat during your flight, airline food is expensive and not very good.

I would definitely listen to the Green Motion employee who suggested getting the toll pass with them. We didn't do that thinking there wouldn't be that many tolls and we were very wrong. I think we went through about $10 in change and we didn't even venture too far away. Pay attention to the shuttles. The Green Motion Shuttle also says OMNI on it so don't get confused. We didn't have any problems with waiting times. All in all, it was a really good price for the service and the car was really nice too.

The airport is really nice, but security gets clogged up easily so arrive earlier to keep it stress-free. Eat before you go thru security because options are limited inside the terminal. Recommend getting more food options. Travel to Ft Myers and take in Naples as well. Hotels are plenty and reasonable in Ft Myers. The beaches are fantastic there. Also recommend Del Rey Beach near West Palm Beach area - great blue ocean water and soft sand beach. .

The Orlando airport is easy to navigate. The signage is clear and understandable. If you have a layover or arrive early there are a number of stores for shopping and choices of places to grab a bite. My only warning/suggestion relates to getting through security. For some reason the TSA lines always seem to be incredibly long. If you travel often you’d be well served to get the TSA Pre-check. I had it my last trip and I was through security in about five minutes. The regular line was so long I expect it would have been at least an hour there.

Do not accelerate rapidly when you are next to a police cruiser. They frown on that. If you do it in an under powered rental car, you're not going to be able to outrun them. If you do get pulled over, don't brag about how your state's team whupped their team. Doing that definitely will get you a ticket and possibly a free night's stay at county. My recommendation, if you plan on driving like Dominic Toretto, is pay for the upgrade and get a rental car with some cojones. That is my travel tip for the day.

Don't fall for the car rental company selling you the sun pan light switch or their car insurance. You personal auto ins will cover your rental if you happen to get into an accident. Atleast mine did. Just be sure you do your own checking into it, before you get to the rental counter. Then you'll know for sure what you should and shouldn't do.

Car seats travel for free, so if you are traveling with children, bring your own seats. Not only will this save you a car seat rental fee, but your children will be comfortable in their own seats. We had no problems getting our luggage out in a timely manner. Best tip is to use a GPS to AVOID tolls!! They are everywhere and you will get stuck if you don't have a pass or exact change. One to do is not only going to the Disney World parks but also Disney Springs. Also, check out Universal's citywalk! It's perfect for a night out! Orlando area has a lot of toll roads, which are easily circumvented. Have a decent GPS to prevent from getting lost. Cheapest gas prices are at WaWa, Racetrac, or Costco (if you're a member). There's a lot of traffic around the tourist sites near opening and closing. Go a little earlier to beat the traffic, and the crowds. The beaches are just an hour away, so go enjoy the sea breeze and fresh air while you're visiting Orlando. Enjoy!!

Travel tip visit in February no queues at rides in theme parks we visited, although didn't go to Disney did all the others. Prior to security checks take all your bits and pieces watches belts wallets etc and put them in hand luggage so you just use one tray for scanning.

While we flew into Orlando, we drove immediately to Daytona Beach. We enjoyed our time at the beach and the warm weather. We found many local places for dinner and had some wonderful seafood. Although we didn't take a tour, we did drive around the Daytona Speedway and take pictures. We also had an outing to the Ponce Inlet lighthouse which turned out to be a really fun day.

Be ready for turnpike fees as soon as you leave the airport. It would be wise to have change or cash ready to go. If you have a SunPass for the area..bring it along! I am not sure if an EZ Pass is the same thing. I was just heading to The Villages and it was around $6-$8 in fees. I would not recommend that you get a SunPass from the car rental company. If you are heading to The Villages, enjoy the daily activities in the Squares. They have free musical performances every night in each square as well.

Orlando/Kissimmee is a great area to visit. We took a helicopter ride, went miniature golfing, and held an alligator. The best best thing to do is Discovery cove! It's a Sea World park where you can snorkel with rays and tropical fish, swim with Dolphins and feed tropical birds, with all meals and gear included in the price.

In orlando you should check out universal studios, wet'n wild, Disney world, magic kingdom and also bush garden. Other than the Parks you should check out florida Mall and the outlet outside Mall. Also you should check out inside rollerblading! The beach at clearwater, outside of tampa is also amazing !

My no1 tip for Disney is to book your tickets in advance with fast pass and make sure to book the main rides attractions for as early in morning as possible as these fill up quickly and long wait times otherwise. If possible don't do Disney during the holidays it is way too packed and very uncomfortable getting around all the people and finding a place to have lunch. Don't miss out on Clearwater Beach, it is worth the 2hr drive. Universal and Islands of Adventure a must for the thrill seeker and Harry Potter fan. Take time out to enjoy the weather :-)

Take a USA satnav with you or hire one with your car. It is SO easy to get lost out there with their awful or non-existent road signs. Allow 2 days each (1 early & 1 late) for both the Magic Kingdom & Epcot. All the other parks are pretty much 1 day each. Allow for some down time every 4-5 days, especially if you have young children - there is SO much walking to do - and make sure you have very comfortable and supportive shoes to wear. If you're going to IOA & US and want to do all the rides then stay 1 night in one of their premium hotels. The cost of the room for 2 or more people is less than the cost of the free unlimited Express passes you will receive for the 2 days. You also get 1 hour early entry into both parks (need to check in about 7.30am to take advantage on the 1st day) so you can do the Harry Potter areas (where there are no EPass lines) before they get too crowded. You will need the extra time and the EPasses to fit it all in. p.s. watch out for the extra taxes on your room - 12.5% - and they charge $22 + tax for 1 nights parking. Avoid USA holiday weeks ... the parks are rammed. Unless you're very unlucky with a late hurricane like they were this year the best time to go is end Sep early Oct. The weather is perfect and you get the Halloween events and Epcot's Food & Wine Festival. If you have to go within school holidays wait until the last 2 weeks of August as the USA holidays will have finished by then. However, expect to get very hot and probably very wet!

I would definitely recommend any of the Walt Disney World Parks, particularly Magic Kingdom. Universal Studios is great for older children and teenagers. Sea World and Aquatica are also lots of fun and educational for kids.

If you are looking for a special place to have a great dinner, try O'hana in Disney's Polynesian Resort. The food is outstanding and plentiful, served family style. It is a five course meal with a great entertainer for the youngsters and the young at heart and a view of the fireworks if you have a late reservation that will take you till 10:00 in the summer. Be sure to make your reservations early through Disney Dining and show up at the resort with your confirmation number a couple of hours early to hop the monorail and visit the Grand Floridian and Contemporary resorts then finish off with a tour around the Polynesian before dinner. Great evening out. Dinner runs roughly $40-50 per person, but is worth every penny, you won't go away hungry!

1) Do NOT pay for the Sunpass toll transponder. They are readily available at a local CVS. Just pay cash for your tolls until you get to your destination (hotel) then pick up a transponder if you think it is worthwhile, but for our situation it wasn't. 2) If you are going to visit the Disney boardwalk, you can park for free on most weekdays up to 2 hours, but on Friday, or on the weekends they will only let you park there if you are staying at their resort, or if you pay the $25 valet fee. 3) For great deals on Disney merchandise, shop at the "character store" inside the outlet mall by I-4. They have a nice selection at great prices.
