London is a green city and every neighborhood has a park. The most famous one is doubtlessly Hyde Park, where major events are held. Major attraction in the park is Speakers Corner where everyone can say what he wants. Never attempt to enter the centre of London by car, not even on a Sunday. Traffic is horrendous. The city itself has loads to offer which would take a travel guide to list. My tip of the day: try evensong in one of the cathedrals or abbeys, not only to avoid the entrance fee, it is a wonderful experience musically and spiritually as well.

Use the trains and buses to get around London. Buy an Oyster card and pay as you go. Don't get a hotel close to the airport because it's not convenient for moving around London from your hotel to places of interest. If you are going to take a specific time starting tour in another city, get your hotel room there the night before because traffic can cause you to miss a scheduled tour as it did for me. England roads have no shoulders and the roundabouts are difficult. Navigation helps, but so does someone sitting next to you to keep on eye on it for you while you are going around those roundabouts.

On this occasion I did not have time for much sightseeing but would recommend a guided tour of the Royal Opera house; even if your are not an opera fan it is fascinating. Also of Tower Bridge; the new glass walkway is an amaxing experience and even my husband, who hates heights, was utterly absorbed. If you like history,a guided walking tour is also highly recommended,
