The City (as I used to know it) has really grown as an airport. Fantastic shops and eateries, modern and well lit decor and from our experience this time, incredibly efficient flight schedules! Our trip mainly centred on the North Antrim coast. Definitely on the to do list are; the Giant’s Causeway, at least one of the many world class golf courses and take in the local hospitality when possible! Also firmly on the to do list is; pack some warm/ waterproof clothes! We had an amazing week with sunny skies and dry days but the extra layers came in handy. Taking a hire car allowed us the freedom to explore at our own pace and gave us the option to travel near or far when we wanted to. It certainly made the miles and miles of stunning beaches easier to access. Highly recommend a trip to Northern Ireland and will not hesitate to use the City airport and Europcar on our next visit.

Easy to get in and out of the airport. Signage could be more obvious for the car rentals. If you have a flight after 5pm. Bring FOOD. We had a flight for 6:20 pm and our flight was delayed. We ate at lunch and didnt eat before we got to the airport, thinking we could have a drink and some food once we cleared security. Of the 4 establishments in the boarding area, only one was open and everything they had looked cleaned up and gone. It was only later that we found out that they would take orders. But while we waited the 2 + hours we had nothing to eat and were very hungry by the time we got to our destination in London at 9:30 pm. There were sufficient customers to have more than what was available open as it was the day after after St. paddy's and there were many travellers waiting.

We visited all four corners of the province from one end to the other & what a fantastic place. Visit the Causeway route to visit the Giants Causeway, a bit expensive at £9 per adult and £9 to park plus £1 each way on the bus to and fro the Causeway itself. Then move out to Enniskillen which is the Lake District of the province, fantastic scenery from the water. Then drive up to Londonderry to view the mountains before driving down to the Lough and onto Belfast , an experience in itself to say the least. Do not leave without visiting the Mournes for the Game of Thrones experience before getting the ferry across Strangford Lough to Portaferry back up to Bangor then into Belfast.
