If you are flying Emirates there is a dedicated terminal and you pretty much pass through very quickly and efficiently which is perfect if you are flying with young kids. Airport is also extremely clean and spacious.

Make sure to pay as many things as possible in advance to limit processing times. Also recommended to book the car earlier. In Dubai you are better off if you rent a larger car as there can be traffic accidents, etc. Also get insurance as you can never know how police or locals would treat you in case of any damage. Remember if you are not an Emirati you are never going to be treated equally in such situations so best to be on the safe side. Great roads in Dubai

Make sure you pay your hire costs and have a print out of the hire agreement ready. Make sure Insurance and any extras are paid upfront so you won’t get any hassle at the point of pickup. Ensure you learn the basics (lights, wipers, ac, etc) about the vehicle. Get your bearings before setting off, especially if you come from a country that drives on the opposite side. What the speed limits. Lookout for toll road lanes and charges, not always oblivious. Lucky for us Eurocars have automatic tagging and they provided a separate invoice with breakdown.

Rent a car but do not forget to use and enjoy puplic transportation. Parking cost a lot at some places maybe you should think of using puplic transportation when you can. Do not spoil your stay with speeding or parking ticket, traffic regulations are strict. Do plan what you should see in Dubai because there is so much to do and see. Don't get stuck in few places or Malls you already know each place has different concept and interesting features to offer. Finall, sleep less and go out and experience more of the richness the city has to offer.

It is easy to find the rental car area within the airport and the staff member behind the desk gave very good instructions about where to return the vehicle. Make sure that you visit Abu Dhabi and not just Dubai, as Abu Dhabi has a lot of great areas of interest that you can explore.

besides the top tourist attraction Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, Ski Dubai, Burj Arab and the beach, try to visit the god souk near Deira mall and near the creek, take a boot for 1 Dirham to cross. Als Wafi mall and IBN Mall and outlet mall are very nice to visit. With a rental car it is easy to find all these places. Even that there is public transport with a car is much easier to see the best places
