A fan-favourite, Prague Airport is the busiest airport of the Czech Republic. It is the main international airport in the city of Prague, making it popular with both tourists and business people alike. Whether you’re taking your family on the holiday of a lifetime, or you’re visiting Prague with your partner or friends for a few days, you are going to want to see the entire city at its best. Car rental is a great way to see as much as you want without compromise. Although you can hire a car directly from the airport, this may not always be the best plan for you. If you’d rather wait, there are plenty of options downtown instead.
The upside of choosing to rent a car outside of the airport is that you often have the choice to support local businesses instead of big brands if you wish. Not to mention, you will usually spend a little less on fuel as you’re not having to drive to and from the airport to pick up and drop the car off.
When driving in Prague, there are a few things you should know before you get behind the wheel. Firstly, if you are going to be staying and driving for more than 60 days, you may need an International Driving Permit (IDP) alongside your regular licence. If, however, you are driving for less than that time, your regular driving license will suffice. Driving in and around Prague is a wonderful experience, and the best way to take in all the sights, however please do be aware of the buses and trams when driving in the city centre.
