Orlando is super fun and diverse city. It may be the theme park capital of the world, with over a dozen of them, but it’s also a hub of excellent restaurants, nightlife, shopping, and surprisingly, nature. You probably wouldn’t expect for find over 100 lakes around Orlando, but the city will surprise you. Orlando is widely considered a car city - it’s huge and the public transport system is fairly new. Although it’s possible to get around by bus, it’s more time consuming and much less convenient than by car. That’s why we think hiring a car is the best way to see all that Orlando has to offer. You can move at your own pace, visiting as many of the theme parks and lakes as you can fit in.
Orlando International Airport has plenty of big name, international car hire firms to choose from. You’ll probably recognise names such as SIXT, Enterprise, Avis, Hertz, and there are also more budget-friendly car hire firms like Alamo, Caro Car, and Budget. The local, independent firms tend to be even more budget-friendly - look out for Dollar Car Rental, Woopcars, and the aptly named Cheap Car Rental in Orlando.
Although it’s convenient, hiring a car at the airport tends to come with additional fees. If you want to sidestep those fees and hire a car in the city, you’ve got tonnes of choice. You’ll find them all over the city. However, if you don’t want to go around the city comparing deals, there’s a collection of car hire firms on McCoy Road in Bell Isle. It’s just a five minute drive away from the airport, so you don’t have too far to go. There, you’ll find smaller, independent car hire names. There’s One Switch, Flex, Action, Clubs, and more. But if you want to go with an international name without paying the extra fees at the airport, you’ll find a whole string of reputable car hire firms on International Drive. There’s Avis, SIXT, Budget, Hertz, and more, all within a short walk of each other.
